Anna, Texas Homes and Neighborhoods

Buying or selling in Anna, with the same CLEAR plan I use across Collin County.

Living in Anna

Anna is a city in north central Collin County, about eleven miles northeast of McKinney. State Highway 5, Farm Road 455 and US 75 all meet here, and that shapes how most people choose where to live.

The town's roots go back to the railroad. The Houston and Texas Central Railway came through the area in 1873, and Anna grew up along that line. Today you'll find that history sitting next to a lot of new construction.

Anna sits in Collin County, so county services such as elections run through the county. The county's elections page has a Voter Registration Search and a Ballot Address Search if you want to look up your voting information after a move. You can search the Collin County site, too, for anything that is not a city matter.

That mix is the thing to understand about Anna. A buyer might be comparing a resale home with a builder's new home a few streets away, and a seller has to price against both. I never treat Anna as one market. The right plan depends on the age of the home, what's around it and what's for sale right now.

Neighborhoods worth knowing in Anna

These are real communities I can confirm with a builder, a developer, the city or the community's own site. Tell me which one you are drawn to and I will pull recent sales for that exact street.

  • Anna Town SquareAnna Town Square has single-family homes from Century Communities and Pulte, near U.S. 75.

How I Work in Anna

I'm Omega Mejia, a REALTOR® with Simply Great Real Estate Group at OnDemand Realty. Our office is at 6160 Warren Pkwy in Frisco, and I help buyers and sellers across Collin County, including Anna.

Here's what I tell every Anna seller: a resale home has to compete with new construction, and builders market hard. Your home needs the right positioning, presentation, price and negotiation behind it, and that starts before it hits the market.

I run every sale and purchase through my CLEAR Real Estate Method. Sellers see a Plan A, B and C for pricing before we list. Every listing gets professional photos, a walkthrough video, its own website, paid ads and a promoted listing on Homes.com. Boosted Zillow ads run on select homes, and homes at $800,000 and up get a 21-video series.

Buyers start with a buyer consultation before any showings, so we know what the home has to do for you before we tour. Selling in Anna? Buying in Anna? Start there.

Anna Neighborhoods & Communities

Anna is growing, and new communities open often. These are communities where builders are active now. Each one is different, so we look at the actual street, lot and builder before you decide.

New builder communities

  • Anna Town Square. Century Communities lists single-family homes here, at 1604 Josiah Drive near U.S. 75, and Pulte lists the community too. Century's page names an amenity center, community pool, playground, green spaces and nature trails.
  • Coyote Meadows. Ashton Woods builds single-family homes here on 50-foot-wide homesites, in one- and two-story floor plans. Its page puts the community near US-75 and State Highway 121 and names a resort-style pool, parks and green spaces, and a trail system.
  • The Woods at Lindsey Place. D.R. Horton builds one- and two-story plans here, west of Highway 5 and half a mile west of Anna High School. Its page lists a pond, a park, a pool and walking nature trails.

The original town. Anna started along the railroad in the 1870s, so the oldest part of town is where you'll find the oldest homes. Older homes bring established lots and, often, updates that need a close look during inspection.

If you're buying new, I'll help you compare builders, floor plans and incentives on the full numbers, not the sticker price alone. If you're selling a resale home, those builders are part of your competition. See new construction in Anna.

Tell me the street or the community you're looking at, and I'll pull recent sales around it so you see what's happening on that block, not across town.

Anna Housing Market & Home Types

Anna's housing runs from older homes near the center of town to newly built single-family homes. Because the ages and styles vary so much, a citywide average tells you little.

What your home is worth depends on its community, age, updates, lot and the homes competing with it this month. I pull that from recent sales close to your address, not from a city-wide number. Find out what your Anna home is worth.

Schools come up in nearly every conversation. The city of Anna is served by Anna ISD, and the district also serves sections of surrounding communities. Always check the district for the specific address. Anna ISD publishes an attendance zones page you can use to confirm it yourself.

Getting Around Anna & Local Lifestyle

Anna sits where State Highway 5, Farm Road 455 and US 75 meet. Where you work and which of those roads you drive every day should shape where you buy.

The City of Anna lists nine parks on its Parks and Trails page, including Baldwin Park, Johnson Park, Natural Springs Park, Sherley Heritage Park and Henry Clay "Yank" Washington Park. Slayter Creek Park has a splash pad, a disc golf course and sports courts, plus walking trails.

The City of Anna Parks and Recreation department publishes an Activity Guide where you can view and register for programs. Its athletics page lists adult co-ed softball and youth soccer, baseball, softball and T-ball. Pavilions at city parks can be reserved through the department's reservations page. The city's Parks and Recreation page has the details.

The Anna Community Library is at 111 W. 5th St. The city's event page shows it opened to the public in a grand opening on November 15, 2025. The city's events calendar also lists a monthly classic film screening at the library.

The city runs a events calendar with separate City Events, Meetings and Municipal Court views, so recent updates on community events and meetings are found there. City Hall is at 120 W. 7th St., and more is at annatexas.gov.

The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce keeps its own calendar of networking events and ribbon cuttings, plus a member directory of local businesses. Its site also lists annual events, including an awards banquet, a golf tournament and Boo Bash, and recent updates are found at greaterannachamber.com. If you like knowing the local businesses near a home, that directory is a good place to start.
