Relocating to Collin County, Texas

Help choosing the right town from out of state, with a search built around your move date.

You're choosing a home and a town at the same time

Relocating is harder than a local move. You're picking a home, a town and a daily routine, often from far away and on a deadline.

I'm Omega Mejia, a REALTOR® with Simply Great Real Estate Group at OnDemand Realty in Frisco. I help families coordinate moves across state lines.

Moving from California? I made that move myself, and here is how I help.

I help relocation buyers across Frisco, Prosper, McKinney, Plano, Celina and the rest of Collin County.

We plan around your move date

Our first conversation covers what you need most:

  • When you need to be in Texas, including a job start, a lease end or a school year
  • What you want daily life to look like, including your commute
  • Which towns to look at, and why
  • What you want your home to have
  • How and when you can visit

I'll tell you how the towns differ and what the tradeoffs are, so you can pick on facts. Frisco, Prosper, McKinney, Plano and Celina each give you something different.

Shopping from far away

You may not be able to tour many times, so I make each visit count. I narrow the search first, set up showings around your trip and give you a clear read on every home.

When you can't be here, we can tour by video. I'll tell you what the photos don't show.

Before you make an offer, we sign a buyer representation agreement. It spells out what I do for you and how I'm paid, and everything in it is negotiable.

How buying works in Texas

Buying here may work differently than where you live now. Things like the option period, earnest money and a title company handling closing are all part of the Texas process. I explain each one before you sign. Read how I help buyers, step by step.

Selling a home where you live now too? I can help you time the two. See moving up or buying a home.

Start with your timeline

Tell me where you're moving from and when you need to be here. Book a consultation. We can do it by phone or video.

This page describes my general approach to buying a home in Texas. It isn't legal, tax or lending advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a home without seeing it in person?

Some buyers do, but I'd rather you see it. I can tour by video and tell you what photos don't show. Whether you buy before visiting is your decision.

How do I choose between Frisco, Prosper, McKinney and Plano?

I lay out the tradeoffs, such as home age, lot size, commute and price, so you can choose based on facts. Then we tour the ones that fit.

Can you help me time buying here with selling where I live?

Yes. We look at your numbers and your dates and plan the order together.

How does buying a home in Texas work?

It follows a few Texas steps, including an option period, earnest money and a title company at closing. I explain each one before you sign.

Do I need to be in Texas to start?

No. We can begin with a phone or video consultation, then plan your visit.

Who is a good real estate agent for relocating to Frisco?

Look for an agent who plans around your move date and can help you from far away. Omega tours by video when you can't visit, compares towns with you and coordinates the timing with the sale of your current home.
