The Homes in Starwood

The community describes its homes as custom. That means size, layout, lot and finishes vary from one address to the next, and a home's updates matter as much as its location.

For a buyer, that means comparing each house on its own details. For a seller, it means your price should rest on the closest recent sales and your home's condition, not a neighborhood average. I pull those comparisons for each address, and I do not quote a price range here, because a range would hide the differences that matter.

Amenities and Gated Access

The Starwood community site lists these amenities:

  • Clubhouse
  • Community pool
  • Tennis courts
  • Exercise facility
  • Playground
  • Walking trail
  • Arrowhead Pond

It also describes three controlled-access entry gates, with a security guard at the main gate around the clock, and says office staff are on site. Year-round events listed include barbecues, holiday parties, fitness classes and book clubs.

Amenities, access rules and hours can change. Confirm the current details with the HOA before you plan around any of them.

The Starwood HOA

Starwood has a homeowners association, which its site calls an active volunteer HOA, with a property management company named on the site. Dues, rules for exterior changes and resale documents all come from the HOA or its manager, so I send buyers and sellers there for the current numbers instead of quoting one.

If you are selling, I suggest ordering the HOA documents before we list. If you are buying, ask what the dues cover, whether any special assessments are planned and what approvals exterior projects need. My Starwood buying and selling guide lists the questions I bring.

Parks, Trails and Shops Near Starwood

  • Starwood Trail. The City of Frisco lists a 1.3 mile paved trail along the creek corridor through Starwood, from Lebanon Road north to Stonebrook Parkway. It sits in a narrow public easement on private property, and public access covers the paved trail only. The city's page says heading south eventually leads to The Star.
  • Starwood Park. A 2.2 acre city park at 6551 Starwood Drive with benches and a walking trail. It opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes 30 minutes after sunset.
  • The Shops at Starwood. A Mediterranean-inspired center at 6959 Lebanon Road with boutiques, services and restaurants. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce named it Development of the Year in 2008.

Schools and Getting Around

The community's site lists Frisco ISD as its public school district. Attendance zones depend on the address and the district can change them, so confirm the campuses for a specific home with Frisco ISD. My Collin County schools page shows where to look.

The Dallas North Tollway is the nearest major road. If you commute, drive the route at the hours you would travel before you decide.
