What Does Chito's New Restaurant Mean for Dining in Frisco, Texas?

What does Chito's new restaurant mean for dining in Frisco, Texas?

It means one more sit-down Mexican restaurant in the part of Frisco around John W. Elliott Drive, and one more answer to a question every newcomer asks: where will I eat on a Tuesday night? The Frisco Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Chito's Authentic Mexican Restaurant on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at its new address.

I'm Omega Mejia, a real estate agent with Simply Great Real Estate Group. If you are moving to Frisco, Texas and trying to picture your weeknights, a new restaurant down the street tells you more than a map does. This post walks through what opened, where it sits and what it adds.

Where is Chito's in Frisco, and when did it open?

Chito's is at 9145 John W. Elliott Drive, Suite 104, Frisco, Texas 75033. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce calendar lists the ribbon cutting for Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 3:00 to 3:30 PM.

The restaurant served its first plates at the new location on October 4, 2026, according to local reporting, which means the ribbon cutting came after about three weeks of service. That order is common for a restaurant: the kitchen opens, the team settles in and the community celebration follows once the doors have been working for a while.

A Chamber ribbon cutting is a public welcome. The business invites neighbors, other owners and city partners to stand in the doorway, and the ceremony puts the new address on the community calendar. For a restaurant that already served its first plates, it also marks the point where the business is settled enough to be introduced to the neighborhood.

The Frisco Fresh Market sits next door. For someone new to the area, that pairing is the useful part. A grocery stop and a dinner stop in the same plaza turns one errand into one trip.

The restaurant is in Suite 104, so it shares the building with other businesses on John W. Elliott Drive. With the market next door, you park once and have more than one stop within a short walk.

What is on the menu at Chito's?

Chito's serves Mexican cuisine built around the dishes most people order first:

Tacos, burritos and enchiladas anchor the menu. Soups, salads and tamales round it out, so a table of four people with four different appetites can order without a compromise. That range matters when you are choosing a place you will return to, not a place you will visit once.

Soups, salads and tamales sit on the menu next to the tacos and burritos, so the quick order and the slower, heartier one are both there. That mix suits a weeknight when one person wants something light and another wants a full plate.

Online ordering is paused for now while the restaurant settles into the new location. The dining room is the way to try it first.

Why does a Frisco restaurant coming back matter?

Chito's is not new to Frisco. The restaurant first operated at 6129 Main Street in Frisco Square, across the street from Toyota Stadium, and closed that location in June 2024. About two years later it is back in Frisco at a different address.

The old Main Street space did not stay empty. It was the former home of Mattito's Tex-Mex, and in December 2025 the Buffalo-based wing chain Anchor Bar opened a sports bar there. Downtown Frisco Square kept moving while Chito's was gone, and the restaurant returns to a city with a different mix of places to eat than the one it left.

A return like this says something about how the city works. Frisco keeps adding neighborhoods, retail plazas and restaurant space, so the dining map changes from year to year.

What does a new neighborhood restaurant add to daily life near John W. Elliott Drive?

It adds a stop that pairs with a grocery run. A restaurant and a market in the same plaza mean one drive covers dinner and the week's groceries.

A plaza with a grocery store and a sit-down restaurant gives the 75033 stretch of John W. Elliott Drive a daily anchor. Many people who want to be near everyday errands start with exactly this kind of plaza: a market, a few restaurants and short drives between them.

You can pick up what you need for the week, sit down for dinner on the same trip and be home before the evening is gone.

If you are comparing areas, put a plaza like this on your list the same way you would put a park or a trail. The things to do in Frisco page keeps a running list of places to eat, walk and spend a weekend, and it is a good place to start building your own map.

How do you try Chito's and the plaza around it?

  • Go on a weeknight. A Tuesday or Wednesday dinner shows you how the plaza feels on an ordinary evening.
  • Pair it with the grocery stop. Frisco Fresh Market is next door, so one trip covers both.
  • Order across the menu. Try a taco, an enchilada and a bowl of soup to see the range.
  • Drive in from your own starting point. Time the trip from the area you are considering so you know your real distance.
  • Walk the rest of the plaza. Look at who else is nearby, since a plaza grows by the businesses around it.
