Can you watch the Texas Legends play in Frisco, Texas this winter?

Yes. The Texas Legends play their 2026-27 home opener in Frisco on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Legends are the NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, and their home games run from November into spring.

If you are weighing a move to Frisco, Texas, this is one more answer to the question "what will my evenings look like here?" I'm Omega Mejia, a real estate agent with Simply Great Real Estate Group, and this post lays out the dates, the building and the practical details so you can picture a winter night out in Frisco.

When do the Texas Legends play at home in Frisco?

The league announced the full 2026-27 schedule on August 28, 2026. The NBA G League season tips off on Friday, November 6, 2026. Each team plays 50 games: a 14-game Tip-Off Tournament first, then a 36-game regular season. The G League Finals follow in April 2027.

The Legends' first home stand in Frisco looks like this as of October 28, 2026:

  • Friday, November 13, 7:00 p.m. Home opener against Rio Grande Valley.
  • Sunday, November 15, 3:00 p.m. Rio Grande Valley again.
  • Saturday, November 21, 7:00 p.m. Memphis.
  • Friday, November 27, 7:00 p.m. Osceola.
  • Sunday, November 29, 3:00 p.m. Osceola again.

The team also named six priority home dates earlier in the year: Saturday, January 9, 2027; Monday, January 18, 2027; Saturday, January 30, 2027; Saturday, February 6, 2027; Saturday, February 27, 2027; and Saturday, March 27, 2027. More home games fill in around those. That gives you Friday nights, Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons to choose from, from the week before Thanksgiving through the end of March.

Where do the Legends play in Frisco?

The Legends play at Fifth Third Arena, 2601 Avenue of the Stars, at the corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Gaylord Parkway. Visit Frisco lists the building under that name and notes that it was previously called Dr Pepper Arena and Comerica Center, so you may still see the older name on maps and in older articles.

The arena holds up to 6,000 people. A 6,000-seat building is a smaller room than a major-league arena, so a game night is a compact outing with a short walk from the garage to your seat.

The building does more than host the Legends. It is the practice facility and executive offices for the NHL's Dallas Stars, and Stars practices are open to the public. The Dallas Pulse, a Major League Volleyball team, has played home matches there since 2026. The venue also hosts concerts, family shows, graduation ceremonies and corporate events, so the calendar stays busy past basketball season.

How does parking work on game night?

The arena has two on-site parking garages with 1,000 spaces each. That is 2,000 spaces in total, next to the building, so you park and walk in without circling side streets.

A Friday 7:00 p.m. tip fits after a workday. A Sunday 3:00 p.m. tip leaves your morning open and your evening free. Both options sit on the schedule, so you pick the one that fits your week.

What happens at the home opener?

The home opener on November 13 is Military and Veterans Day night, which honors veterans and active servicemembers. The team has also announced themed jersey nights and community events for the season, though the dates for those come later.

An opener is the easiest game to try if you have never been. The crowd is larger, the team is introduced fresh and the whole season sits ahead of you. If you like what you see, you will know by the second quarter whether you want to come back in January.

If you are relocating to Frisco

Moving to a new city means building a routine from scratch. You need a grocery store, a gym, a few go-to restaurants and something to do on a cold Saturday in January. Pro sports can fill that last slot, and Frisco hosts several teams: FC Dallas soccer at Toyota Stadium, the Frisco RoughRiders baseball team at Riders Field, the Dallas Cowboys at The Star, and the Legends, Stars practices and Pulse volleyball at the arena on Avenue of the Stars.

That mix means a winter weekend in Frisco can include a game without a long drive. My things to do in Frisco page collects more ideas for the weeks when you want something other than basketball.

If you are planning a move and want to see how areas of the city fit the way you spend your time, my buying process starts with that conversation, and my new construction page covers neighborhoods that are still being built. What does a Legends game add to life in Frisco?

It adds an easy evening out. A G League game is a chance to watch professional basketball, with players working toward the NBA, in a 6,000-seat room. The Legends are tied to the Dallas Mavericks, so the roster can change as players move between the two teams during the season.

It also fills out the Frisco calendar. Baseball runs at Riders Field from April to September, FC Dallas plays at Toyota Stadium through November 7, and the Legends and the Pulse take the winter. That rhythm gives you a reason to leave the house in every season. I wrote about the city's year-round energy in my post on Northwest Community Park, which shows a different side of daily life here.

A game schedule does not change what a home is worth. Price depends on the home, its condition and what similar homes nearby sold for. What it changes is how your week feels once you live here.

How do you plan a night at a Legends game?

  • Pick your game. Choose Friday, November 13 for the opener, or Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. if you prefer an afternoon tip.
  • Plan your drive. Drive to the corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Gaylord Parkway and park in one of the two 1,000-space garages.
  • Add a second stop. Pair the game with a Saturday visit to Frisco's neighborhoods or a stroll through downtown, so one trip covers two plans.
  • Mark the long weekend. Thanksgiving weekend has two Osceola games, on Friday, November 27 and Sunday, November 29.
  • Save a January date. The Saturday, January 9, 2027 priority date lands in the first full weekend of the new year.
